SCOTLAND'S LION WILL ROAR AGAIN

Scotland, thou who faced the darkness
Yet came through with head held high;
Scotland, thou who scorned surrender
Yet with pride refused to die.
Throw away your robes of mourning
Set aside your ball and chain.
Raise your eyes towards the dawning
For your time has come again.

Chorus

Hear the pibroch bravely sounding
As the tide of darkness turns.
See the flickering lamps of freedom
Light the hearts where freedom burns.
Watch the fiery cross of justice
Carried forth through hill and glen.
Know with all the strength within us
Scotland's Lion will roar again.

Scotland, thou who hates oppression,
Show the world the face that's free.
Thou who Wallace bled and died for,
Who with Bruce won victory,
Lift your hearts again to greatness
Grasp once more your destiny.
Scotland, we your children love you.
Scotland, we'll be true to thee.

Chorus

Hear the pibroch bravely sounding
As the tide of darkness turns.
See the flickering lamps of freedom
Light the hearts where freedom burns.
Watch the fiery cross of justice
Carried forth through hill and glen.
Know with all the strength within us
Scotland's Lion will roar again.
