Contact Me

I have included this page primarily to publish a song I wrote on the ‘Troubles’ in Northern Ireland right at their very inception in 1968 – which I sang on Scottish Television to a filmed background of actual violence, of rioting and of burning in the streets of Belfast at the time. I had no idea that twenty-five years later I would find myself as a minister at the very centre of the political process which was to open the way to a more peaceful future for that wonderful part of the UK! Nor did I realise how relevant so much of it would remain.

I am also beginning to include some of the songs I wrote for an (as yet!) unperformed musical on Mary Queen of Scots - an ancestor!

Belfast Thursday
Scotland's Lion
Leave You for a While
Lighten Your Darkness
Too Beautiful to Sigh
They Have Killed My Nightingale
